Homemade Strawberry Milk
Growing up, strawberry milk was one of my all time favorite treats. The problem is, most store bought strawberry milk doesn’t even have real strawberries and may be colored with artificial food colors. I wanted to make a strawberry milk recipe I am proud to serve to my family. This homemade strawberry milk recipe is made with just 3 simple ingredients, real strawberries included! This recipe got a 5 star rating from my son so I hope you enjoy it just as much.

Here’s Why This Strawberry Milk Recipe Works
First of all this recipe, uses real milk and nothing else. The real star, however, is the strawberries. I chose to use freeze dried strawberries in this recipe for two reasons:
- Freeze dried strawberries do not add extra liquid that takes away from the creaminess of the milk. This results in an ultra-rich creamy milk that is packed with strawberry flavor.
- I also love that freeze dried strawberries are often more affordable and readily available than fresh strawberries. I purchase mine at Trader Joe’s but any freeze dried strawberries will work.
Finally, this recipe is sweetened with a touch of sugar for some extra sweetness. This really brings out the strawberry flavor in the milk.
Ingredients

Milk: I recommend whole milk or 2% cows milk in this recipe. If you are vegan or dairy-free and want to substitute your favorite non-dairy milk you absolutely can.
Freeze Dried Strawberries: I would not substitute fresh strawberries in this recipe as the proportions will be off. Because freeze dried strawberries are dehydrated, they are basically more concentrated. Using equal amounts of fresh strawberries will yield milk that is not as flavorful. I love using freeze dried strawberries in my recipes that we want to reduce excess water. You’ll find them in my chocolate strawberry sourdough bread recipe as well.
Sugar: This is optional but it really adds a sweetness that is more reminiscent of classic strawberry milk you probably had as a child.
Beet Root Powder: This is completely optional but can make the milk extra pink. You only want to use 1/4 teaspoon though as it does lend some beet flavor.
How to Make Homemade Strawberry Milk
This recipe is seriously so easy to make. Just add all the ingredients to your blender and blend until smooth. Serve over ice and garnish with fresh strawberries if desired.

If you have a Vitamix blender, this drink is perfect for the small individual cup attachment. You can even double the recipe without needing to get your large pitcher dirty.
How to Store Homemade Strawberry Milk
This recipe is so easy to make that I recommend serving immediately. Because the strawberries are acidic, they can curdle the milk if left in the refrigerator.
