Beer Cheese Dip

Made with smoked gouda, cheddar cheese, and your favorite ale, this beer cheese dip is the perfect game day snack to bring to a Super Bowl party or serve for fun holidays like Halloween, Memorial Day, Father's Day or the 4th of July.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • ¾ cup milk
  • ¾ cup dark beer ale or lager
  • 8 ounces cheddar cheese shredded
  • 4 ounces smoked gouda shredded
  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika

Instructions
 

  • Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low-medium heat. Stir in the flour for 30 seconds.
  • Add the milk and beer. Increase heat to medium. Stir for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Stir in the cheese, mustard and spices. Continue stirring a few more minutes until melted and thoroughly mixed.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl. Serve immediately.
