Chocolate Peanut Butter Sourdough Granola

This easy sourdough granola is perfect for all chocolate peanut butter lovers. This granola is crunch and the perfect balance of sweet and salty. Serve it with milk or over yogurt, or eat it as is.

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup unsalted peanut butter
  • ½ cup sourdough starter active starter OR discard
  • cup maple syrup
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup coconut oil melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup peanuts
  • 1 cup chocolate chips dark chocolate or semi-sweet

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 325℉.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the peanut butter, sourdough starter, maple syrup, sugar, coconut oil, vanilla extract, and salt.
  • Add the rolled oats and mix with a rubber spatula until fully coated.
  • Sprinkle the cocoa powder over the oat mixture and continue to mix until evenly mixed.
  • Stir in the peanuts.
  • Pour the granola mixture on a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread the granola evenly across the baking sheet and slightly press the mixture down.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips over the granola. The chips will melt into the granola.
  • Allow the granola to completely cool. Then break the granola into large chunks.
